Born and raised in the Netherlands, Jeanette has been painting from an early age. After finishing high school, she worked as a Delft Blue pottery painter before earning her BFA in Arts and Textiles. She later built a career as a graphic designer while continuing her practice as an artist.
Following two international moves and her retirement from graphic design, Jeanette now devotes her time fully to painting and teaching. She is often found sketching or painting en plein air, using these studies as the foundation for larger studio works.
Jeanette lives in Paris, Ontario, and her work reflects the surrounding landscape as well as the places she visits on her travels. Her paintings are held in numerous private and permanent collections.
“When I paint, I aim to create a sense of harmony and peace—a breathing space in our busy lives. As a landscape artist, I paint what captures my attention: a place that takes my breath away, or a place that allows me to catch it. More often than not, the two coincide.”
